Current information on the topic of coronavirus (COVID-19) and the trade fair in February 2021

Trade fairs start again

The Bavarian State Government decided on May 27 that from September 1 on trade fairs can be held again. The ban imposed on major events by the Federal Government and the States on June 17, which will continue to be in force until at least the end of October, does, by contrast, not relate to trade fairs, but explicitly to such events where it is not possible to trace contacts and comply with hygiene regulations. Among such major events, the Federal Government and the States reckon, according to the decision of 6 May, which continues to be in force, „e.g. folk and other festivals, major sporting events with spectators, major concerts, village, town, street or parish fairs, wine fests, or Schützenfeste (festivals of the traditional riflemen’s associations)”.

By contrast, the events of Messe München will be subject to a comprehensive protection and hygiene concept, which is currently being coordinated with the Bavarian State Government and the relevant public health authorities.

Dear exhibitors of f.re.e,

we are all in enormously challenging times. Trade fairs are an indispensable platform for the economy, especially in times of crisis. Messe München is currently working on concepts to enable events to take place in the autumn with a secure implementation plan. With regard to the requirements for the implementation, we are constantly in close contact with the responsible authorities. German trade fairs already have a very high standard of hygiene, which we will continue to improve.

We are pleased that many of you have already registered your participation in f.re.e. We will do everything in our power to offer you another unique trade fair experience - whatever the conditions in February 2021 may be.

The f.re.e team will be happy to answer all your questions at any time.

Best regards

Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer
Deputy Chairman of the Management Board

Dear partners, exhibitors and friends,

despite the currently difficult situation we remain optimistic and are working on a successful implementation of f.re.e in February 2021. Many of you have already submitted your registration for 2021. Thank you!

Of course we are aware that the current development requires our highest attention. Therefore, Messe München is in constant contact with the health authorities. Messe München will immediately implement the recommendations and guidelines of the World Health Organization (WHO), the Robert Koch Institute and the health authorities for its events.

If you have general questions, please contact Messe München. If you have specific exhibitor questions, please speak to your contact person from the f.re.e team.

I very much hope that we will all be able to meet again in person soon.

Best regards

Jessica Tilly
f.re.e Exhibition Director

FAQs

It is our top priority to deal with this situation responsibly. We are therefore in close contact with the responsible authorities and are taking their recommendations into account with regard to the staging of events. At the current time, f.re.e 2021 is taking place as planned and we look forward to welcoming you all to the Munich Trade Fair Grounds in February.

The application is a declaration of intent to determine demand and is not binding until you confirm the placement proposal.

We are working on hygiene concepts for the upcoming events. Therefore, we will - unlike usual - not start planning until the beginning of September 2020. We are planning hall by hall and will then send you the placement proposals as soon as possible.

You will find the deadline for confirmation in your placement proposal.

A cancellation free of charge is possible as long as you have not signed your placement proposal. After your confirmation of the placement, the cancellation conditions apply according to our terms of participation.

If an event organised by Messe München is cancelled, exhibitors will be refunded the participation fee already paid. However, costs for services booked or already provided will be retained. In the event of postponement, payments already made will be transferred 1:1 to the alternative date. With regard to costs of participation in the trade fair which are not paid directly to Messe München, in particular hotel costs, Messe München will use its channels and networks to work towards the most accommodating arrangements possible in the interests of all exhibitors. In any case, however, please contact your contractual partner directly, e.g. the relevant hotels. Messe München cannot influence these specific individual contractual relationships.

We are currently working on concepts for the next events. We will inform you as soon as decisions are made here.
